The City of Mississauga will be converting the decommissioned Lincoln M. Alexander Secondary School pool in Malton into a Community Hub that provides services and programs that reflect the local community needs.
This is a view of the pool attached to the Lincoln Alexander SS building. It has remained locked off from the school for ten years as a new Community Centre directly across the road was built with a more modern pool. The ground floor has 12,000 square feet space that will be filled in for the Youth Hub with huge drop-in furnished space for casual activities like reading, listening to music, computer use, pool tables etc.
This $12.6m project funded by the Region of Peel, the City of Mississauga and several very generous private donors who will be named once the conversion construction begins!
