The City recently purchased 9.5 acres of land to add to Malton Village Park – sections 1&3 on this diagram. The city will be building a field hockey pitch and a soccer field on that land for the community. There will be access and on street parking on Drew Road as well as the small parking lot off Beverly Street.

The land purchased was zoned “employment land” so it could not be used for the much needed housing in Malton. But section 4 of the current park is zoned residential. If access from Airport Road can be established, that space can be developed into residential units. It is a challenge but one we will overcome.
