STUDIO BOTTEGA will be the first and largest purpose-built movie studio in Mississauga. We have had several warehouse conversions to produce a significant studio presence in the City, clustered in our ward. But this amazing project built by Leo and Alessandro DelZotto and SMART CENTRES will put Mississauga on the map!

Located on the South West corner of Derry Road and Maritz Drive, on the west side of Hurontario, the massive complex of two film studios, offices and support buildings will total 454,960 square feet. Construction costs are estimated at $301 million and annual operating costs at $530 million.

Construction is expected to require 3,296 workers and once completed and functioning will require 5,591 regular employees: producers, actors, technicians, stage hands, caterers, set builders, musicians, makeup artists, lighting crews, publicists….. the list goes on. What a perfect opportunity for student apprenticeships, budding actors, writers – all manner of creative work right here in Ward 5, soon to be a new and exciting film Capitol!
